Driver Diary: Putting QLD in Focus

In preparation for Round 3 at Queensland Raceway, a track I've never raced on, I recently had some coached simulator time with the team at Focus Driver Performance. Driving on a new track brings an additional kind of pressure, so having extra seat time in the SIM with a coach who knows the track well can make a huge difference.

Working through the layout, finding reference points, and building a rhythm set me up perfectly for a track test day with Sonic. Having that virtual familiarity already locked in meant I could hit the ground running in the actual car rather than spending the first half of the day just finding my feet.

I previously met the Focus team when they put us through our physical paces and cognitive training at the recent Porsche Driver Development camp. Approaching them for race-specific SIM prep feels like a natural next step for me and further supports my own SIM training schedule at home.
