2026 Livery Reveal
Rookie Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge driver Ruairi Avern has revealed a livery that will be hard to miss at Australian race tracks this year.
After his success as the top scoring rookie in the Radical Cup Australia last year, Avern has stepped up to the one-make Porsche class in 2026, driving for reigning champion team Sonic Motor Racing Services.
This season will mark not only his first in a sportscar, but also his first in a race car with a roof.
Avern will carry support from HLPA Legal Services, leather accessories brand Jowitt, innovative light specialist Sunday Light and Edith Cowan University where he is currently studying for a double Engineering degree in Mechatronics and Motorsport Technology.
His Sonic Porsche will also show support for WA charity zero2hero for whom he is an Ambassador this year - zero2hero is focused on educating, engaging and empowering young people to support mental health and prevent suicide.
The livery on Avern's Porsche is a collaboration between himself and Sonic's long-time graphic artist Neville 'Brushes' Bolton.
Yellow and blue have been a part of Avern's racing journey since the early days with FlatOut Karts, but this year, he elected to make the yellow fluorescent – a nod to his favourite Formula 1 car, the 2009 championship-winning Brawn GP car, driven by Jenson Button. He will continue to race under the #22, the same number that Button used during his title-winning season.
